$1 Million Grant Advances Legacy Village, Inclusive Housing and Employment Community in Bradenton
A significant investment in inclusive community development is moving forward in Bradenton with a $1 million grant awarded to Community Assisted & Supported Living (CASL) as part of the Bishop Parker Foundation’s Fall Grant Cycle. The funding supports Legacy Village, a $27 million mixed-use development designed to create housing, employment, and training opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Legacy Village will include 60 residential units that offer a supportive, community-centered environment where residents can live with dignity, independence, and purpose. The development is intentionally designed to integrate living and working spaces, promoting both stability and opportunity for its future residents.
The first floor of Legacy Village will feature commercial spaces designed to create on-site jobs and hands-on training opportunities. These spaces are expected to foster workforce readiness while encouraging interaction between residents and the broader community.
Key partnerships will further strengthen the project’s impact. Easterseals Southwest Florida will provide life-skills training and individualized employment plans, helping residents build practical skills and pursue meaningful work aligned with their abilities and goals.
Legacy Village is envisioned as a model for inclusive development in Manatee County, demonstrating how housing, employment, and supportive services can come together to create long-term community impact. Leaders behind the project say the development reflects a forward-looking approach to accessibility and inclusion, setting a standard for future projects across the region.
