$14,500 Reward Offered as Search Continues for Bradenton Murder Suspect
The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with the Gold Star Club of Manatee County, has announced an additional $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Maurice McCary, 35, of Bradenton, who remains wanted in connection with a deadly shooting earlier this month.
McCary is sought in connection with the March 8 shooting that resulted in the death of 27-year-old Jamari Murray-Barnes and left 22-year-old De’Ryan Lopez injured. Authorities continue to actively search for McCary, who is considered at large and potentially dangerous.
With the newly added funding, the total reward for information leading to his arrest has increased to $14,500. The reward is being supported through multiple organizations, including Manatee County Crime Stoppers and statewide partners.
Officials are urging anyone with information about McCary’s whereabouts to contact the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office at 941-747-3011. Individuals who wish to remain anonymous and qualify for reward money must submit tips through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-866-634-TIPS or submitting information online at ManateeCrimeStoppers.com.
Anonymous tipsters may be eligible for up to $3,000 through Manatee County Crime Stoppers if their information leads to an arrest. An enhanced reward of up to $6,500 is also available through the Florida Association of Crime Stoppers in partnership with the Florida Office of the Attorney General. The enhanced reward opportunity is available through June 30, 2026.
Authorities continue to emphasize the importance of community cooperation as the investigation remains ongoing.
