63-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed in Bradenton Intersection Crash
A 63-year-old motorcyclist was killed Saturday afternoon following a collision with an SUV at a Bradenton intersection, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 1:28 p.m. on Feb. 28 at the intersection of Fifth Street East and 301 Boulevard East. Investigators reported that an SUV was traveling northbound on Fifth Street East, approaching a stop sign at 301 Boulevard East. At the same time, the motorcycle was heading west on 301 Boulevard East toward the same intersection.
Authorities said the SUV attempted to cross 301 Boulevard East and entered the path of the motorcycle. The motorcycle's front struck the right side of the SUV, causing it to overturn onto its right side. The rider was ejected from the motorcycle during the impact.
The motorcyclist sustained critical injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
A 47-year-old passenger in the SUV reported minor injuries.
The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
