Academy at Glengary to Host 8th Annual Live Telethon Supporting Mental Health Recovery
The Academy at Glengary will host its 8th Annual LIVE from the Academy telethon on Thursday, Aug. 13, from 7 to 8 p.m., inviting the community to learn more about mental health wellness and recovery while raising funds to support its programs. The live broadcast will stream online and, for the first time, originate simultaneously from the organization’s Sarasota and Bradenton campuses.
The one-hour event will highlight the Academy’s recovery model, share stories of hope and inspiration, and provide viewers with an inside look at the organization’s work serving adults living with mental health challenges. Community members will be able to watch the telethon from a computer or mobile device through the Academy's website.
Donations are already being accepted ahead of the broadcast. All contributions made through the telethon campaign will be matched dollar-for-dollar by Sunset Automotive Group, up to a total of $35,000 for the event, doubling the impact of community support.
The Academy at Glengary operates campuses in Sarasota and Bradenton, offering Clubhouse International-accredited programs that focus on vocational training, wellness, education, employment support, and social connection for adults on their mental health recovery journey. The nonprofit also encourages the public to schedule tours to learn more about its services and mission.
