Academy Members Surpass $1 Million in Annual Earnings, Advancing Mission of Recovery and Career Growth
The Academy at Glengary and Academy at Bradenton have reached a historic milestone: collective member earnings across both campuses have surpassed $1 million for the 2024–2025 fiscal year. This achievement reflects the Academy’s mission of transforming lives through the integration of wellness, recovery, and career development.
Founded to provide adults living with mental health challenges a pathway to self-sufficiency, the Academy focuses on job placement, transitional employment, and skills training. The goal is to help members gain confidence, rediscover purpose, and find stability through meaningful work. By combining recovery support with real-world career opportunities, the Academy empowers members to succeed both personally and professionally.
In the past year, 77 members were employed across Sarasota and Manatee counties, contributing to a total of $1,041,185.80 in earnings. Of this, $673,700.89 came from members at the Academy at Glengary, while $367,484.91 was earned by members at the Academy at Bradenton. These earnings reflect not just financial progress, but the deeper value of independence, self-worth, and belonging in the workforce.
Local employers—including Sarasota Memorial Hospital, the Public Defender’s Office, the State Attorney’s Office, and a variety of retail and service businesses—have partnered with the Academy to provide opportunities for members to demonstrate their skills and dedication.
The Academy’s success shows how recovery and employment go hand in hand. By supporting members in their career journeys, the organization continues to carry out its mission: helping individuals improve their lives, contribute to their communities, and achieve long-term wellness.
