Aircraft Services Group has expanded its operations to Sarasota Bradenton International Airport with the opening of a new aviation facility that will serve as the New Jersey-based company’s southern headquarters.
The company celebrated the new facility with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Oct. 1 at 925 Warhawk Place on the airport property. Aircraft Services Group provides aircraft acquisition, management, private charter, maintenance and aviation consulting services.
The new facility includes a 30,000-square-foot aircraft hangar along with approximately 5,000 additional square feet containing a private lounge, kitchen, conference room and office space. A 20,000-gallon fuel farm is also located at the site. Construction took about a year.
Manatee County permit records indicate Halfacre Construction built the more than 35,000-square-foot facility, with the project estimated at approximately $9.3 million.
The expansion also marks the launch of Aircraft Services Hangar Group, a hangar management operation offering aircraft storage, fueling and other jet services from the private facility.
Aircraft Services Group currently has 10 employees based at SRQ, with positions connected to ground operations, pilots, charter sales and aircraft maintenance. The company’s fleet includes 19 aircraft, four of which are permanently based in Sarasota. Other aircraft rotate through the location.
The project follows a 2024 agreement between the Sarasota Manatee Airport Authority and Aircraft Services Group for a 20-year ground lease covering 5.44 acres in the northern portion of the airport, with an option for a 10-year renewal. The lease includes two parcels of more than 100,000 square feet each.
Plans call for additional development at the airport. Under the lease agreement, Aircraft Services Group is required to develop the second parcel within three years of completing the first. The company previously proposed another 30,000-square-foot hangar on that property, with an estimated minimum capital investment of $7.5 million.
Founded in 1990 and headquartered in Teterboro, New Jersey, Aircraft Services Group also has offices in California and New York. The addition of its Sarasota operation expands the company’s presence in Florida while adding private aviation services and aviation-related jobs at SRQ.
