Bank OZK Donation Powers Habitat Home in Poling Gardens, Expands Support for Affordable Housing
Manatee County Habitat for Humanity has received a $118,000 contribution from Bank OZK through Florida’s Community Contribution Tax Credit Program, covering most construction costs for a new Habitat home in the Poling Gardens community. The home is now occupied by Nelsie, a Manatee County teacher and single mother of two, marking a milestone in her path to stable homeownership.
The donation continues Bank OZK’s support of Manatee Habitat, dating back to 2018. In addition to financial contributions, the bank’s local team regularly volunteers on build sites, assists with fundraising events, and provides financial literacy courses for future homeowners. The bank also supports day-to-day operations by offering discounted rent for Manatee Habitat’s administrative offices and providing bilingual communication through its Spanish-speaking staff.
The Community Contribution Tax Credit Program enables Florida businesses to receive tax credits for contributions to affordable housing and community development projects. By using the program, companies like Bank OZK help expand access to safe and affordable housing while strengthening community infrastructure.
Manatee Habitat credits the ongoing partnership with Bank OZK for advancing its mission to increase financial stability and equity for local families. The Poling Gardens home supported by this gift represents the broader impact of public-private collaboration on long-term community well-being.
