Battle of the Bands Brings Live Music Competition to Lincoln Park
Live music, local talent, and a family-friendly atmosphere will take center stage in Palmetto as Battle of the Bands comes to Lincoln Park on Friday, February 13, from 6 to 10 p.m. The free community event will be held at Lincoln Park, located at 501 17th St. E., and invites residents to enjoy an evening of high-energy performances while supporting emerging musicians.
The competition will feature performances by Black Mariah, Killjoy, Sun Bleached, Soothsayer, The Meeps, and Trainwreck, showcasing a wide range of musical styles and original sound. Bands will compete for top honors, with first place receiving $500 and a three-song demo courtesy of the Del Couch Music Education Foundation. Second place will earn a $250 prize, and both winning bands will be invited to perform at the Multicultural Festival.
Judging the competition will be a panel of respected local music and community figures, including Reggie Bellamy; Robin Chin of Palmetto’s Chin family; singer-songwriter Bella Garland; award-winning blues saxophone player Reggie Oliver; and local singer Diane Kelley.
Organized in partnership with AAPEX Connections, Inc. and the Bradenton Kiwanis, the event is designed to celebrate creativity, encourage youth and local artists, and bring the community together through music.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and enjoy the outdoor setting while cheering on their favorite bands. With no admission fee and a full evening of live performances, Battle of the Bands promises to be a lively night of entertainment and community spirit in the heart of Palmetto.
