Beach Cleanup Days Invite Community to Protect Local Shorelines
Residents and visitors are invited to lend a hand in preserving the natural beauty of Anna Maria Island during a series of Beach Cleanup Days hosted by The Center of Anna Maria Island. The cleanups encourage community members to come together to remove debris from the shoreline, enjoy time outdoors, and support environmental stewardship.
Participants will meet at The Center and walk together to the Gulf of Mexico, focusing on cleanup efforts along the beach from Magnolia Avenue to White Avenue. All necessary supplies, including trash bags, gloves, water, and a light snack, will be provided. Volunteers are asked only to bring themselves and a shared commitment to keeping local beaches clean.
The Beach Cleanup Days are scheduled for January 17, February 21, March 21, and April 11. Each event will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., offering a meaningful way to give back in just a couple of hours.
Those interested in participating or seeking additional information can email volunteers@centerami.org or call 941-778-1908. Organizers say even small efforts can make a lasting difference when the community works together to protect the island’s treasured coastline.
