Before the Storm Bingo Fundraiser to Support Disaster Communication App
As hurricane season gets underway, a local nonprofit is inviting the community to come together for an evening of entertainment while supporting disaster preparedness efforts across the region.
Before the Storm Bingo will take place on June 16 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Gold Coast Eagle Distributing. The fundraising event will feature bingo games, food, drinks, prizes and opportunities for community members to support a cause focused on helping residents before, during and after emergencies.
Tickets are $100 per person and include admission, refreshments, bingo participation and prize opportunities.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Local Relief, a nonprofit organization that operates a free disaster communication app designed to connect people with resources, information, organizations and neighbors who can provide assistance during times of crisis. The platform aims to strengthen community response efforts by helping residents access timely information and support when disasters strike.
Organizers say funds raised through the event will help maintain and expand the app’s services as communities continue to face challenges from hurricanes and other emergencies.
In addition to attending the event, community members can support the fundraiser through donations, sponsorships or raffle prize contributions. Organizers are encouraging local businesses and residents to get involved to help ensure the app remains available when it is needed most.
More information about tickets, donations and sponsorship opportunities is available through the event’s fundraising page.
