Bishop Animal Shelter Construction Moves Into Next Phase
Construction at the new Bishop Animal Shelter is steadily progressing, marking an important step toward improved facilities for Manatee County’s animals and residents.
All eight kennels have now been delivered, anchored, and connected to plumbing, completing a significant portion of the early construction phase. Crews are currently making final adjustments before advancing to the next stage of development.
In the coming two weeks, teams will install fire suppression and sprinkler systems, connect permanent power for lighting and air systems, grade the play yards, and prepare the foundation for the future adoption building.
The expansion aims to provide a safer, more comfortable environment for both the animals and the staff who care for them. When completed, the shelter will feature upgraded infrastructure, expanded capacity, and improved areas for play, adoption, and community engagement.
