Bishop Parker Foundation Invests $315,000 to Strengthen Food Security in Manatee County

Transformational support advances The Food Bank of Manatee Expansion Project

Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee proudly recognizes the Bishop Parker Foundation for its extraordinary dedication to addressing food insecurity in Manatee County through a $315,000 investment in The Food Bank of Manatee Expansion Project.

The Food Bank of Manatee is the only food bank based in Manatee County and the largest hunger relief organization serving the community, providing vital nourishment to babies, children, families, and seniors facing food insecurity. The Bishop Parker Foundation’s generous support will help expand capacity to meet growing needs across the county, ensuring more neighbors have reliable access to nutritious food.

In recent years, Manatee County has faced multiple disaster events, underscoring the essential role of The Food Bank of Manatee as a critical lifeline for thousands of residents during times of crisis. As an independent food bank, The Food Bank of Manatee relies 100% on community support to carry out its mission and respond swiftly when emergencies arise.

To further amplify the impact of community generosity, donations to The Food Bank of Manatee Expansion Project will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $50,000 through the Deerbrook Fund. Community members can make an immediate impact by donating funds or organizing food drives to support The Food Bank of Manatee.
