Students at Manatee Elementary School will soon have hundreds of new books to explore following a donation made possible through Books-A-Million’s annual Back to School campaign.
District media specialist Lori Pick recently received 300 brand-new books for the school, with a total value of more than $4,500.
The books were funded through donations from Books-A-Million customers during the retailer’s annual Back to School drive, which supports schools and literacy programs by providing new reading materials for students.
The donation will expand the selection of books available to Manatee Elementary students and provide additional opportunities for children to discover new authors, subjects and stories.
School district officials expressed appreciation to Books-A-Million and its customers for supporting literacy and helping place more books directly into the hands of local students.
