Bradenton Advances $100 Million in Water Reclamation Upgrades
Significant improvements are transforming Bradenton’s Water Reclamation Facility as part of the city’s ongoing Face It, Fix It initiative. For more than five years, the city has been investing in modernizing its wastewater infrastructure, with more than $100 million in upgrades currently underway.
The projects include construction of a fourth clarifier, installation of a new disc filter, expansion with an equalization tank, the addition of a solids belt press, and the development of a deep injection well and aquifer recharge system. Together, these enhancements will improve efficiency, strengthen reliability, and ensure Bradenton is prepared to meet the community’s future needs.
City officials emphasize that the improvements are not only about replacing aging equipment, but also about building long-term resilience in the face of population growth and environmental challenges.
The Face It, Fix It program showcases Bradenton’s commitment to addressing infrastructure needs directly, while also planning for decades to come.
