Bradenton Area EDC Names Shirar O’Connor as New President and CEO
The Bradenton Area Economic Development Corporation has announced the appointment of Shirar O’Connor as its new President and Chief Executive Officer, following unanimous approval by the organization’s Board of Directors.
O’Connor brings more than three decades of global leadership experience in economic development, business attraction, and foreign direct investment. Her career includes leadership roles with Financial Times FT Locations, AdvanceCT, UK Trade and Investment, and the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency. She has also advised more than 120 organizations worldwide on economic growth strategies and investment initiatives.
A Florida native with strong ties to the Gulf Coast, O’Connor is returning to the region with a focus on advancing sustainable economic growth, strengthening regional partnerships, and expanding opportunities throughout the Bradenton area.
She is scheduled to officially assume the role on June 1, 2026.
