Bradenton-Area Shopper Wins $1 Million in Mega Millions Lottery
A Publix shopper in Parrish, Florida, is starting the new year with a $1 million prize after matching five numbers in the final Mega Millions draw of 2024. The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased at the Publix located at 11245 U.S. 301 N.
The Mega Millions draw, held on December 31, 2024, featured the numbers 13, 22, 27, 29, and 35, with a Mega Ball of 17. While no ticket matched all six numbers to win the jackpot, the Parrish shopper's ticket matched the first five numbers, securing the $1 million second-tier prize.
In addition to the Florida winner, a player in Maryland won $1,000 a week for life in the Cash4Life drawing. However, there were no jackpot winners for the Mega Millions, Jackpot Triple Play, or the Fantasy 5 jackpots in the final draws of the year.
The $1 million prize remains unclaimed. Winners have 180 days from the drawing date to claim their prize at Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee or any district office. The Florida Lottery encourages all players to check their tickets carefully and claim prizes promptly.
The Publix store where the winning ticket was sold is in Manatee County's Parrish area, a community known for its friendly residents and growing development. According to Florida Lottery retailer regulations, the store is expected to receive a bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.
This win adds to the new year's excitement for the local community, highlighting the unpredictable nature of lottery games and the life-changing potential they hold for participants.
