Bradenton Beach Launches Targeted Emergency Text Alert System
Residents of Bradenton Beach will soon have access to near-instant alerts during emergencies, including hurricanes and other severe weather events, through a new citywide text message notification system.
The system, set to launch Tuesday, August 12, is designed to deliver only essential updates, ensuring subscribers are informed without being overwhelmed by unnecessary notifications. City officials say the streamlined approach focuses solely on critical safety information.
The program was developed following lessons learned from last year’s hurricane season, when timely updates proved vital for public safety.
Residents can enroll by texting BRADENTONBEACH to 91896. Once registered, participants will receive urgent alerts directly to their mobile devices, providing an additional layer of preparedness for the community.
