Bradenton Beach Police Clarify No-Dog Policy at County Parks and Beaches
The Bradenton Beach Police Department has issued a clarification following misinformation circulating on social media regarding dogs being allowed in certain Manatee County parks and beaches within Bradenton Beach.
Police officials emphasized that dogs are not permitted on Manatee County park property in Bradenton Beach, including Coquina Park and Cortez Beach. The prohibition applies not only to the beaches themselves but also to all county-owned paths and sidewalks in those areas.
According to the department, if an officer encounters a person with a dog on any Bradenton Beach shoreline, the individual will be instructed to remove the animal from the premises. The only exception applies to service animals. In those cases, officers may ask what specific task or work the service dog is trained to perform, in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
The department thanked residents and visitors for their cooperation and understanding, noting that adherence to county park regulations helps ensure safety, accessibility, and enjoyment for all beachgoers.
