Bradenton Construction Worker Arrested After Violent Altercation on I-75
A roadside dispute between two construction workers escalated into violence Tuesday morning, resulting in the arrest of a Bradenton woman, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP). The incident occurred around 9:22 a.m. in a construction zone on Interstate 75 near mile marker 222 in Manatee County.
FHP reports indicate that 37-year-old Finale Mareus was engaged in an argument with a male coworker when the confrontation became physical. During the altercation, Mareus allegedly bit the man's cheek and struck him in the head with a metal rod, causing significant injuries. Emergency medical personnel treated the victim at the scene; however, he declined transportation to a hospital.
Mareus was arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and booked into the Manatee County Jail, where she is being held without bond. The Manatee County Sheriff's Office website confirms her current detention status.
The incident remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
