Bradenton Council Receives Update on Palma Sola Bay Water Quality Study
The City of Bradenton is continuing its efforts to protect and improve water quality in Palma Sola Bay and across the community. During this week’s City Council meeting, the Sarasota Bay Estuary Program presented preliminary findings from an ongoing study aimed at identifying potential sources of bacteria in the bay.
According to long-term monitoring data, the overall health of Palma Sola Bay has consistently been rated in the good to excellent range for nearly 20 years. The latest update highlighted both areas of progress and the need for continued collaboration to safeguard water quality for residents, visitors, and local wildlife.
City officials emphasized the importance of the study in guiding future strategies to reduce pollutants and ensure the bay remains a valuable ecological and recreational resource. The work reflects a broader commitment by Bradenton to protect waterways throughout the region.
