Bradenton Man Arrested After Assaulting Pregnant Girlfriend and Abusing Her Two Children
A 22-year-old Bradenton man is facing serious charges after deputies say he assaulted his pregnant girlfriend and physically abused her two young children during a domestic incident earlier this week.
Deputies with the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the 300 block of 58th Avenue East on Wednesday following a report of possible child abuse. When they arrived, they discovered that the incident was connected to an ongoing domestic disturbance involving Anthony Reyes-Enos and his 23-year-old girlfriend.
Investigators say Reyes-Enos assaulted the woman, who is reportedly 10 weeks pregnant and inflicted physical harm on her 5-year-old son and 2-year-old daughter. According to the sheriff’s office, both children had visible injuries consistent with abuse. The 5-year-old had injuries to his face, and the 2-year-old had marks on her back and arm.
Deputies learned that Reyes-Enos allegedly punched the boy and struck the girl with a belt. The mother reported that he became violent after accusing her of cheating and physically attacking her, causing bruising on her face and head.
Reyes-Enos was arrested and charged with aggravated battery on a pregnant woman, two counts of child abuse, and domestic battery. He is currently being held without bond in the Manatee County Jail.
The children were taken for medical evaluation, and the Department of Children and Families has been notified to assist with the investigation.
