A Bradenton man has been arrested in connection with the armed robbery of a Sarasota convenience store that occurred early Monday morning.
The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office said the incident happened just before 5 a.m. on June 10, when a masked man entered the 7-Eleven on Honore Avenue armed with what appeared to be an AR-15 rifle. The suspect demanded cash from the store clerk before fleeing the scene.
Deputies later identified 24-year-old Denzel Alejandro Hernandez Cuevas of Bradenton as a person of interest. Holmes Beach Police detained him during a traffic stop later that same day. Cuevas was the sole occupant of the vehicle at the time of the stop.
Following further investigation, the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office issued an arrest warrant for armed robbery. Cuevas was booked into the Manatee County Jail and is currently awaiting transfer or court proceedings.
