Bradenton Man Charged in Fatal DUI Crash That Killed Motorcycle Passenger
A Bradenton man is facing serious charges following a fatal collision Monday night that claimed the life of a 35-year-old woman and left another individual critically injured.
According to the Bradenton Police Department, 52-year-old Milton May has been arrested and charged with DUI Manslaughter and DUI with Serious Bodily Injury. The crash occurred shortly after 10:15 p.m. on July 7, after May reportedly left a local business and was driving eastbound on 42nd Avenue West.
Traffic Homicide Investigators say May’s pickup truck crossed into the path of a northbound motorcycle on 59th Street West, leading to a violent collision. The passenger on the motorcycle, a Palmetto woman, died as a result of the crash. The motorcycle’s driver, a 28-year-old Bradenton man, remains hospitalized in critical condition.
May remained on the scene but displayed signs of impairment, authorities said. After refusing to participate in field sobriety tests, he was placed under arrest and transported to a nearby hospital. Investigators obtained a warrant to collect a blood sample, and the results of that test are pending. May will be booked into the Manatee County Jail once medically cleared. Additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.
Police are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or saw May earlier that evening to contact Officer Ian Emrich or submit tips anonymously through Manatee Crime Stoppers. The incident remains an active case, numbered 2025-004983.
