Bradenton Man Convicted of Murder in 2021 Shooting of Ex-Girlfriend’s New Boyfriend
A Bradenton man has been convicted of second-degree murder and domestic battery by strangulation following a fatal shooting in 2021. After a four-day jury trial, De Andre Sanders was found guilty of killing Frank Green, the new boyfriend of his former partner.
According to the State Attorney’s Office, the incident occurred on April 18, 2021. Green was seated in his new girlfriend’s car when Sanders, her ex-boyfriend, opened the door and fired 16 shots at him. Following the shooting, Sanders assaulted and choked his ex-girlfriend while verbally attacking her over her relationship with Green.
Sanders now faces a maximum sentence of life in prison without parole, with a minimum mandatory sentence of 25 years. A sentencing date has not yet been scheduled.
