Bradenton Man Faces Additional Charges in Fatal DUI Crash
Bradenton, FL – New charges have been filed against Cesar Navarrete, 25, in connection with a November 2 crash that claimed the life of a Bradenton mother and left another man seriously injured. Authorities say Navarrete was driving at 115 MPH and had a blood alcohol level more than three times the legal limit at the time of the collision.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Cortez Road and 43rd Street West when Navarrete ran a red light and struck a Chevrolet Equinox. The impact split the vehicle in half, killing 37-year-old passenger Sara Danielle Holmes and injuring the driver, 35-year-old Sergio Larcher De Brito. Investigators found no evidence of braking or evasive actions by Navarrete before the collision.
Following the investigation, Navarrete has been charged with vehicular homicide, DUI manslaughter, DUI property damage with personal injury, and driving with a suspended license causing serious injury or death. He is being held without bond at the Manatee County jail, with his arraignment scheduled for December 27.
The tragedy has shaken the local community as family and friends mourn the loss of Holmes, a mother of two. The case underscores the severe consequences of impaired driving and reckless behavior on the roads.
