Bradenton Nears Completion of 59th Street West Wastewater Upgrade
A major wastewater infrastructure improvement project along 59th Street West is entering its final stages as the City of Bradenton continues work through its Face It, Fix It initiative.
The project replaces an aging section of the city’s wastewater system between 17th Avenue West and 21st Avenue West, improving the reliability of essential underground infrastructure in one of the city’s busiest corridors.
Because the construction area is located near the main entrance to HCA Florida Blake Hospital, the city completed the work in carefully planned phases to reduce disruptions for motorists, hospital visitors, emergency vehicles, nearby residents, and local businesses.
City officials said much of the project was completed using construction methods that minimized the need for extensive excavation. The approach allowed crews to replace underground infrastructure while reducing impacts on traffic flow and surrounding neighborhoods.
Construction is expected to be completed in August, marking another step in the city’s ongoing effort to repair and modernize aging infrastructure through the Face It, Fix It initiative.
