Bradenton Police Arrest Suspect in 8th Avenue East Homicide
The Bradenton Police Department has arrested a suspect in connection with the fatal stabbing of 44-year-old Thania Fuenmayor, who was found dead on September 28 in the 2100 block of 8th Avenue East.
Police were initially called to the scene around 8:30 p.m. for a reported traffic accident, but discovered Fuenmayor lying outside her SUV with extensive stab wounds. Despite efforts by officers and emergency medical personnel, she died at the scene.
Detectives from the Bradenton Police Department and the Manatee Homicide Investigation Unit launched an investigation and recovered multiple pieces of evidence, including a knife. Their efforts led to the identification of 69-year-old Francisco Ramos-Moradel as the suspect.
Investigators say Ramos-Moradel, who lives about two blocks from where the incident occurred, was an acquaintance of the victim. He was taken into custody early Saturday morning with the assistance of the Tampa Police Department and is being held at the Hillsborough County jail awaiting extradition to Manatee County.
Authorities have charged Ramos-Moradel with second-degree murder. The investigation remains ongoing.
