Bradenton Police Continue Investigation Into Redfin Construction Amid Growing Consumer Complaints
The Bradenton Police Department has confirmed that a criminal investigation into Redfin Construction, also known as MTC General Contractors, remains active as more residents come forward with allegations of financial losses.
Homeowners in Seabreeze Mobile Estates say they paid tens of thousands of dollars for repairs after Hurricane Milton damaged their properties, but many are still waiting for promised work or refunds. Among them are Diane Barush and Sandy Bailey, who paid $16,000 and $19,000, respectively, to have their carports rebuilt. After months of delays, both say they were assured in September that they would receive full refunds, but have yet to receive any money.
Several residents have reported similar experiences, naming company executive Brian Michaud in their complaints. Michaud previously emailed customers, asserting that the company had acted appropriately and warning that further accusations could result in legal action.
Barush has since hired a different contractor to complete the work, paying again from her retirement savings to fix the same damage.
Bradenton Police officials said the department has received multiple complaints related to the company and is continuing its investigation. Detectives are urging any additional customers who believe they were defrauded by Redfin Construction or MTC General Contractors to contact the department.
