Bradenton Police Department Offers Free Citizen Firearm Safety Classes
The Bradenton Police Department (BPD) is providing City of Bradenton residents with the opportunity to participate in a free Citizen Firearm Safety Class. Tailored for individuals with little to no prior firearm experience, the one-day class aims to promote firearm safety and awareness.
Made possible by a grant from the FDLE Firearm Safety Training Program, the course will be led by certified law enforcement firearms instructors who will cover essential topics such as concealed carry statutes, firearm safety, range safety, and fundamental shooting techniques. Firearms and ammunition will be provided to all participants.
Classes will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the following dates:
December 21, 2024 (Rescheduled; limited space available)
January 11, 2025
February 15, 2025
February 22, 2025
To participate, interested residents must complete a background check form, which can be accessed online through the BPD website. The form must be emailed to the department's training coordinators before registration is confirmed.
Space is limited for each session, and participants must meet eligibility requirements, including being a U.S. citizen and legally able to possess firearms.
