Bradenton Police Investigate Pedestrian Accident Involving School Bus
The Bradenton Police Department's traffic unit is investigating an early morning crash involving a pedestrian and a charter school bus. The incident occurred around 6:35 a.m. on Manatee Avenue near 26th Street East.
A 59-year-old man, who was reportedly not in a designated crosswalk, was struck by the bus as it traveled westbound. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived on the scene and transported the injured pedestrian to a local hospital. No updates on his condition have been released at this time.
The students on the school bus were unharmed during the incident.
Following the accident, authorities closed the westbound lanes of Manatee Avenue from approximately 6:45 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. to investigate and clear the scene. Police have not provided further details as the investigation continues.
