Bradenton Police Report Over 3,500 School Zone Speeding Violations Since Start of School Year
The Bradenton Police Department announced that 3,541 school speed zone violations have been issued since the start of the 2025–2026 school year.
Speed enforcement cameras are currently active at 10 schools throughout the City of Bradenton and operate for the entire school day. The locations of these cameras are publicly listed for drivers to review.
According to police data, the highest recorded speed so far was 67 miles per hour within a posted school zone. Drivers exceeding the speed limit by 10 miles per hour or more receive a violation notice mailed to the vehicle's registered owner.
Officials emphasized the continued importance of driver awareness near schools, noting that consistent enforcement aims to protect students, crossing guards, and families traveling to and from campus each day. Bradenton Police continue to urge motorists to reduce their speed and remain alert in designated school zones.
