Bradenton Police Seek Sponsored Recruits for Fall 2026 Law Enforcement Academy
As the new year begins, the Bradenton Police Department is inviting community members to take the first step toward a career in law enforcement by applying for its sponsored recruit program for the Fall 2026 academy class.
Sponsored recruits receive paid tuition, along with a salary and benefits, while attending the law enforcement academy, providing an opportunity to earn and learn simultaneously. The initial requirement for interested applicants is passing the Physical Agility Test (PAT), which evaluates candidates on timed sit-ups, push-ups, a 300-meter sprint, and a 100-pound dummy drag.
The department will host three PAT sessions, with the first scheduled later this month. Applicants must complete an online application in advance. Eligible candidates will then be contacted by a recruiter with specific details regarding test dates, times, and preparation.
Those interested in starting a career with the Bradenton Police Department can apply online at bradentonpd.com/bpdsponsoredrecruit. For additional information or questions about the process, prospective recruits may contact BPD recruiters directly at 941-932-9367.
