Bradenton Police Seek Suspect After Overnight Box Truck Break-In Incident
The Bradenton Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man captured on surveillance video following an unusual early morning incident involving two box trucks in downtown Bradenton.
According to police, the incident began around 2:55 a.m. on March 15 in the 300 block of Manatee Avenue West, where the man climbed into an unlocked box truck and remained inside for more than five hours.
Authorities reported that the individual exited the vehicle around 8:25 a.m. and began searching the area for his missing shoes. During that time, he attempted to access a second, similar box truck parked nearby. When he was unable to gain entry, investigators say he used a heavy object to break both windows of the vehicle before leaving the scene on foot.
The suspect was described as wearing a green jersey, shorts and socks, and was not wearing shoes at the time he left the area.
Police released surveillance footage of the incident and are encouraging anyone who recognizes the individual to come forward. Tips can be submitted by contacting the Bradenton Police Department via email at anthony.cerniglia@bradentonpd.com.
The investigation remains ongoing.
