Bradenton Police Seek Witnesses in Fatal DUI Crash Investigation
The Bradenton Police Department’s Traffic Homicide Unit is actively seeking witnesses in connection with a fatal crash that occurred on July 7 at the intersection of 59th Street West and 42nd Avenue West.
Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage and have identified several individuals who may have witnessed the collision, including the occupants of a nearby truck and a man captured in recently released photographs. Authorities are urging anyone who was in the area shortly before or after 10:16 p.m. to come forward with any information.
The crash resulted in the death of a female passenger riding on a motorcycle and left the motorcycle operator critically injured and in intensive care. According to investigators, 52-year-old Milton S. May was driving a pickup truck eastbound on 42nd Avenue West when he entered the path of the motorcycle heading north on 59th Street West. May remained at the scene and was later arrested on charges of DUI manslaughter and DUI with serious bodily injury.
Police believe May was intoxicated at the time of the crash. A warrant was obtained for a blood alcohol content test, and the results are pending.
