Bradenton Police Seize Drugs, Gun, and Cash in Major Felony Arrest
A Bradenton Police Department investigation led to a significant drug bust on Wednesday, resulting in the arrest of 48-year-old Johnie Jones, Jr., a convicted felon. The operation, initiated by a patrol officer’s tip, culminated with the execution of a search warrant by the department’s SWAT Team and Crime Reduction Team.
Inside Jones' residence, officers discovered a substantial quantity of illegal substances, including approximately 760 grams of marijuana, 55 grams of crack cocaine, and 12 grams of fentanyl. In addition to the narcotics, police recovered a loaded firearm, cash, and various items of drug paraphernalia.
Jones now faces multiple felony charges, including possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and possession with intent to sell. Given Jones' prior convictions and the volume of substances found, authorities say the investigation remains active as they work to determine the broader scope of drug activity connected to the case.
The Bradenton Police Department continues its efforts to reduce drug-related crime through targeted investigations and community enforcement strategies.
