The Bradenton Police Department (BPD) will host a prescription drug take-back event on Saturday, October 17, providing residents with a safe way to dispose of unwanted, unused, or expired medications.
The event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at two locations: HCA Florida Blake Hospital, 2020 59th St. W. in Bradenton, and HCA Florida Braden River Emergency, 8500 State Road 70 E.
Officers will collect medications for proper disposal, helping prevent accidental ingestion, prescription drug misuse, and environmental contamination caused by improper disposal.
Residents unable to attend Saturday’s event can use the permanent prescription drug drop box in the Bradenton Police Department lobby at 100 10th St. W. The drop box is available seven days a week during lobby hours, from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The department encourages residents to regularly check their medicine cabinets and safely dispose of medications that are no longer needed.
