Bradenton Reminds Residents: No Plastic Bags Allowed in Yard Waste
The City of Bradenton is reminding residents that plastic bags are not permitted for yard waste disposal. This aligns with the county-wide rule, which takes effect October 6, ensuring a smoother collection process and compliance with regional facilities that prohibit plastics in green waste.
Yard waste must be prepared using approved methods, including blue City yard waste containers, compostable paper lawn and leaf bags, or neatly tied bundles. Bundles should be less than three feet in length, no more than six inches in diameter, and weigh under 50 pounds.
Plastic bags will not be collected with yard waste. Residents are encouraged to follow these guidelines to keep operations efficient and environmentally responsible.
