Bradenton Traffic Stops Lead to Drug Seizures and Two Arrests Over Fourth of July Weekend
Lawful traffic stops conducted by the Bradenton Police Department’s Crime Reduction Team over the Fourth of July holiday weekend resulted in the seizure of illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, and two vehicle forfeitures.
According to the Bradenton Police Department, officers made two separate traffic stops on Thursday and Friday that led to the recovery of approximately 330.9 grams of marijuana, 23.3 grams of crack cocaine, THC cartridges, and drug paraphernalia.
On Thursday, 18-year-old Jacobey Mobley was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell.
On Friday, 19-year-old Donte Couran was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell and possession of cocaine with intent to sell.
Authorities also seized both vehicles involved under Florida’s Contraband Forfeiture Act, which allows law enforcement agencies to seek forfeiture of property used in the commission of certain criminal offenses.
The Bradenton Police Department said the arrests were the result of proactive enforcement efforts by its Crime Reduction Team during the busy holiday weekend. As with all criminal cases, the charges are allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
