Bradenton Wawa Sells Sole Winning $800 Million Mega Millions Jackpot Ticket
A Bradenton lottery player is holding the only winning ticket from Tuesday night’s Mega Millions drawing, claiming the estimated $800 million jackpot, according to the Florida Lottery.
The winning Quick Pick ticket was sold at the Wawa located at 14510 State Road 70 East in Bradenton. It matched all five white-ball numbers — 34, 48, 49, 59 and 70 — along with the Mega Ball 12.
The jackpot is estimated at $800 million, with a one-time cash option valued at approximately $344.2 million.
The winner has 180 days from the July 28 drawing to claim the prize. If the winner chooses the cash option, it must be claimed within 60 days of the drawing.
Because the prize exceeds $1 million and includes an annual-payment option, it must be claimed in person at Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee.
The jackpot-winning ticket marks another major prize for Florida since the state joined Mega Millions in 2013. According to the Florida Lottery, the game has generated more than $1 billion for education and awarded more than $1 billion in prizes to more than 87 million winning tickets statewide.
