Bradenton Woman Arrested for Setting Fire to Boyfriend’s Car, Endangering Apartment
A 38-year-old woman is facing arson charges after allegedly setting her boyfriend’s car on fire Monday night, causing flames to spread dangerously close to their shared home.
Just after 8:20 p.m., Bradenton police and firefighters responded to reports of a vehicle fire at 2019 9th Street West. Emergency crews arrived to find a Honda Accord fully engulfed in flames, with fire beginning to spread to an adjacent apartment unit.
Witnesses at the scene identified Natasha Killebrew as being near the burning vehicle. Officers made contact with Killebrew, who confirmed she lived with her boyfriend in the damaged apartment and that the car belonged to him.
Initially denying any involvement, Killebrew later gave conflicting statements—first blaming a discarded cigarette, then claiming she attempted to set herself on fire by pouring cooking oil on herself and the car. Officers noted she had no burn injuries or evidence to support her account.
Killebrew was arrested and booked into the Manatee County Jail. In addition to arson, she faces charges for violating her probation.
