Bradenton Woman Identified as Victim in Ongoing Homicide Investigation
Police have identified the woman found fatally injured outside her car in a Bradenton neighborhood Sunday night as 44-year-old Thania Fuenmayor of Oneco.
Officers with the Bradenton Police Department responded to reports of a traffic crash around 8:30 p.m. in the 2100 block of Eighth Avenue East. When they arrived, they found Fuenmayor lying on the ground with severe injuries. Authorities later confirmed the injuries were not consistent with a vehicle crash.
Fuenmayor was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity was initially withheld until her family in Venezuela could be notified.
The Bradenton Police Department’s Homicide Investigation Unit has taken over the case. Investigators believe the incident is isolated and continue to gather evidence in the area.
Residents living nearby described seeing emergency crews arrive quickly but said the event had left the neighborhood shaken.
