Bulk Collection Pilot Program Launches in Unincorporated Manatee County
Manatee County is set to roll out its new Bulk Collection Pilot Program beginning May 1, offering expanded curbside pickup options for residents in unincorporated areas.
Under the new program, residential customers can place up to two bulk items at the curb once per month on their assigned service day. Collection days are determined by zone, and residents can find their specific schedule using the county’s Resident Information Tool at mymanatee.org/bigbin.
In addition to monthly service, each property is eligible for one annual large-bulk pickup of up to 10 cubic yards. Certain items, including tires and appliances, as well as the annual large-bulk collection, require advance scheduling through the county’s Customer Self-Service Portal at mymanatee.org/css.
County officials note that the pilot program is available only to residential properties in unincorporated Manatee County and comes at no additional cost, with no changes to utility bills.
The initiative is designed to improve convenience and streamline bulk waste disposal as the county continues to evaluate long-term service options. Residents are encouraged to review program guidelines and confirm their collection day ahead of their first scheduled pickup.
