Burn Ban Remains in Effect Across Manatee County, Including City of Bradenton
Manatee County officials are reminding residents that the burn ban remains in effect countywide, including within the City of Bradenton, as dry and windy conditions continue to elevate the risk of wildfire.
Although parts of the region have received recent rainfall, officials say vegetation remains sufficiently dry to ignite quickly. Fire crews across Florida have responded to dozens of brush fires in recent days, underscoring how rapidly flames can spread when conditions are unfavorable.
Under the current burn ban, open burning of any kind is prohibited. This includes campfires, fireworks, and the burning of yard debris. The restrictions are designed to reduce the risk of accidental fires that could threaten homes, businesses, and natural areas.
Grills and gas fire pits are permitted but must be attended at all times. Residents are urged to exercise extreme caution when cooking outdoors and to keep any heat-producing equipment away from dry grass, vegetation, and structures.
Officials also encourage the public to fully extinguish cigarettes before disposal, avoid outdoor activities that could create sparks near dry brush, and immediately report any signs of smoke or fire.
With fire danger heightened by continued dry and breezy weather, authorities are asking the community to remain vigilant and do their part to help prevent wildfires and protect neighborhoods throughout Manatee County.
