Centerstone Names Dr. Lisa Williams as New Regional Chief Executive Officer for Florida Operations
Bradenton, Fla. – Centerstone, a nonprofit health system specializing in mental health and substance use disorder services, announces Dr. Lisa Williams as regional chief executive officer for its operations in Florida. Williams’ 25 years of experience in strategic leadership, advocacy, and organizational development brings a unique perspective as she oversees Centerstone’s operations including inpatient, outpatient, and residential mental health and substance use disorder services in Bradenton, Sarasota, Labelle, Arcadia, and Fort Myers.
Most recently, Williams was the chief executive officer at West Michigan Community Mental Health in Ludington, Michigan. There, she focused on mission-driven collaborations to facilitate organizational growth and develop strong teams. She improved access to behavioral health services, increased organizational revenue, and created new service models using evidence-based practices. In addition, she facilitated the organization’s preparation for participation in the Michigan Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) Demonstration Program.
“My goal is to build relationships, to continue this great work and to be another asset to our already strong team,” said Williams. “I want to understand what the team sees as strengths and opportunities and keep scaling it to make our work more impactful for those living with mental illness and substance use disorders in Florida – to make Centerstone an outstanding shining star.”
“Lisa’s deep commitment to patient care and support for staff make her an excellent fit for this critical role at Centerstone,” said Centerstone CEO David Guth. “And her unique perspectives regarding innovation, growth, and collaborative partnerships will continue Centerstone’s momentum in the Florida communities we serve.”
Williams earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Denison University, completed her residency in clinical psychology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, and earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Maine. She has presented on mental health topics at multiple conferences, workshops, and forums throughout the country and has leveraged her leadership experience on boards of directors, special committees, and work groups at state and national levels.
Williams replaces long-time Bradenton native Melissa Larkin-Skinner who previously served as regional chief executive officer for Centerstone since 2017.
