Children’s Parade and Party in the Park Brings Joy to Palmetto
The annual Children’s Parade and Party in the Park, hosted by the Hernando De Soto Historical Society, is set to bring excitement and smiles to the streets of Palmetto on April 18th. This cherished tradition allows children to take center stage as they march along historic avenues, showcasing creative floats designed in classrooms and homes.
The parade will begin at the Manatee County Fairgrounds, proceeding south on 10th Avenue West before turning onto Fifth Street West, concluding at Lamb Park. Families and spectators are encouraged to line the route and cheer on the young participants as they display their artistic and engineering talents in a lively, heartwarming procession.
Following the parade, Sutton and Lamb Parks will transform into a hub of fun with the Party in the Park, featuring games, food, and activities designed for children of all ages. The free event offers a day of community spirit and wholesome entertainment.
This year’s event is made possible through the generous support of the Early Learning Coalition of Manatee County as the presenting partner, along with Riverhouse Waterfront Restaurant, Anna Maria Oyster Bar, and Publix Charities as event sponsors. Their contributions help ensure a magical experience for all attendees.
Families, schools, and community groups interested in participating in the parade or hosting a vendor booth at the Party in the Park can find applications on the De Soto Historical Society’s website. The deadline for submissions is Friday, April 11.
