Church’s Texas Chicken Purchases Bradenton Site for New Restaurant
Church’s Texas Chicken is expanding into Bradenton after purchasing a commercial property where it plans to build a new quick-service restaurant.
The national fried chicken chain acquired the 1.14-acre parcel at 2815 First St. E. for $975,000, according to American Property Group, which represented the sale. The transaction closed on July 28.
The property was previously owned by Bradenton Car Wash SPE LLC, which purchased the site in 2022 for $835,000, according to Manatee County property records.
The vacant parcel sits along a busy commercial corridor between a recently constructed Circle K and O’Reilly Auto Parts and directly across from Firkins Automotive Group. The site features approximately 180 feet of frontage on First Street East and is visible to an estimated 40,000 vehicles each day, making it a highly desirable location for a new restaurant.
Following the purchase, Church’s Texas Chicken plans to develop the property into a new quick-service restaurant. The addition will expand the chain’s presence in Florida, where it currently operates 26 locations, including restaurants in Clearwater, Lakeland, Plant City, St. Petersburg and Tampa.
Founded in San Antonio in 1952, Church’s Texas Chicken has grown into an international restaurant brand recognized for its hand-battered, double-breaded original and spicy fried chicken, honey-butter biscuits and traditional Southern-style side dishes. The company later relocated its headquarters to Atlanta and has been owned by High Bluff Capital Partners and FS Investments since 2021.
The planned restaurant will add another national dining option to Bradenton’s growing First Street East commercial corridor, an area that has continued to attract new retail and restaurant development in recent years.
