City of Bradenton to Distribute Free Sandbags, Water and Tarps Aug. 15
The City of Bradenton will host a Sandbag and Water Distribution Event on Saturday, Aug. 15, to help residents prepare for hurricane season and potential severe weather.
The distribution will take place from 8 a.m. to noon at 1706 9th St. E. in Bradenton. Supplies will be available while quantities last.
Residents attending the event can receive hurricane preparedness supplies including 10 filled sandbags, two cases of water and a tarp.
City staff will be on site during the event to assist residents with loading the supplies into their vehicles.
The distribution is part of the city’s efforts to encourage residents to prepare before severe weather threatens the area. Having sandbags and other emergency supplies ready in advance can help residents protect their homes and avoid last-minute preparations when a storm approaches.
Residents are encouraged to share information about the Aug. 15 distribution with neighbors who may also need hurricane preparedness supplies.
