Cleetus McFarland Aims for Pro 275 at U.S. Street Nationals Pending Performance
Cleetus McFarland, known for his impressive automotive builds and significant social media following, is preparing for the U.S. Street Nationals at Bradenton Motorsports Park with a key performance goal. Testing his 5,000-horsepower 1969 Camaro, dubbed the "Eagle," McFarland has set a benchmark time of 3.70 seconds in the eighth mile as a requirement for his participation in the Pro 275 class.
During recent testing sessions, McFarland and his team focused on chassis, suspension, and tune-up adjustments to optimize the car for the smaller 275 radial tires, replacing the larger 315s previously used. Despite recording a promising 3.94-second pass at 199 mph, the team faced challenges with traction and fine-tuning.
The Pro 275 class demands highly competitive times, and McFarland aims to close the gap with continued testing. His recent personal best on the smaller tires suggests the "Eagle" has potential. Still, additional adjustments are needed before committing to the U.S. Street Nationals, an event drawing top radial and Pro Mod racers.
The U.S. Street Nationals will be held at Bradenton Motorsports Park. Tickets are available at www.thewinterseries.com, and FloSports will provide a live stream.
