Commissioners to Address Senior Services, Infrastructure, and Public Safety in June 17 Meeting
The Manatee County Board of County Commissioners will hold its regular meeting on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at 9 a.m. in the Patricia M. Glass Chambers at the Manatee County Administration Building in Bradenton. The meeting will be broadcast live via MGA TV and online at mymanatee.org.
The packed agenda includes recognition of the West Manatee Fire and Rescue District’s 25th anniversary and a proclamation for Manatee Community Foundation Day.
Key items up for consideration span a range of county priorities:
Senior Services: Commissioners will vote on multiple grant agreements and budget amendments related to elder care, including programs under the Community Care for the Elderly, Alzheimer’s Disease Initiative, and Emergency Home Energy Assistance.
Infrastructure Projects: Dozens of resolutions and agreements will be addressed, including those for the Moccasin Wallow road expansion, 9th Avenue NW intersection improvements, jail chiller replacement, and renovations for EMS Station 6.
Public Safety and Emergency Services: The board will consider approving a search and rescue agreement with local fire districts and a new collective bargaining agreement with EMTs and paramedics. An annual opioid settlement report is also on the agenda.
Transportation and Environmental Measures: Resolutions authorizing transit grant applications and funding for beach erosion control will be discussed, alongside a proposed purchase of environmental lands for conservation at Rye Preserve and Crane Park.
