Community Calendar Fills Mid-April with Festivals, Learning Events, and Local Engagement Opportunities
Manatee County residents will find a wide range of events scheduled from April 13 through April 20, 2026, offering opportunities for learning, entertainment, civic engagement, and family fun across Bradenton, Palmetto, Lakewood Ranch, and surrounding areas.
Family Learning and Hands-On Experiences Take Center Stage
One of the week's largest highlights begins April 18 with Suncoast Remake Learning Days, a 15-day regional festival focused on hands-on learning for children and families. The event features hundreds of free activities across Manatee and neighboring counties, encouraging creativity through arts, science, outdoor exploration, and technology-based experiences.
Also on April 18, Manatee County’s Public Works Facility will host an Open House and Touch-A-Truck event from 9 a.m. to noon at 1022 26th Avenue East in Bradenton. Families can explore heavy equipment, interact with staff, and learn about essential county services.
Community Events Encourage Engagement and Service
Civic engagement opportunities begin April 14 with the Parrish Civic Association meeting at Parrish Community High School, featuring a public forum and guest speaker focused on local issues and the District 1 commission race.
On April 16, the Manatee County Neighborhood Summit will take place from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the Bradenton Area Convention Center in Palmetto. The event will provide updates on county services, including 311 operations, park improvements, and Community Emergency Response Team programs.
Residents can also take part in The Giving Challenge, hosted by the Community Foundation of Sarasota County, running from noon April 15 through noon April 16 via thegivingpartner.org. The 24-hour online giving event supports hundreds of nonprofits across the region.
On April 18, the Manatee County Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller will host a free Community Shred Day at the Manatee County Fairgrounds in Palmetto from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., offering secure document shredding and hard drive destruction.
Environmental efforts continue with Earth Day Manatee on April 18, encouraging residents to participate in local cleanups and sustainability initiatives throughout Bradenton and Palmetto.
Festivals, Fundraisers, and Entertainment Across the County
Downtown Palmetto will host the Palmetto Chalk Art Festival April 18–19 at Sutton Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring live music, food vendors, and interactive chalk art experiences for all ages.
In Lakewood Ranch, Woofstock returns April 18 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Main Street, combining live music, pet adoptions, vendors, and family-friendly activities benefiting Nate’s Honor Animal Rescue.
A fundraiser supporting Manatee Children’s Services, Pizza with a Purpose, will take place on April 15 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Mellow Mushroom in Sarasota, featuring food, drinks, prizes, and a local art auction.
Families can also attend Healthy Kids Day on April 18 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lakewood Ranch YMCA, offering free activities focused on youth wellness and active lifestyles.
Live Music and Ongoing Community Entertainment
Music in the Park continues April 17 at the Riverwalk Pavilion in downtown Bradenton from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., featuring a live performance by The Fulcos as part of the city’s free spring concert series.
At GT Bray Park’s Amphitheater, the Third Friday concert series will also take place on April 17 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., featuring Westbound and Down, offering another option for outdoor entertainment.
Theater Brings Classic Mystery to the Stage
The Manatee Performing Arts Center will present And Then There Were None, Agatha Christie’s classic mystery, during this period. The production follows ten strangers brought to a remote island where a storm traps them, and one by one they begin to die under mysterious circumstances tied to a haunting nursery rhyme. As suspicion builds and trust erodes, the remaining characters race to uncover the killer among them.
The show features a local volunteer cast delivering a suspense-filled performance that highlights the enduring appeal of one of the most celebrated whodunits in theater.
With a mix of educational programming, civic involvement, entertainment, and family-friendly festivals, the week of April 13 through April 20 offers residents throughout Manatee County numerous ways to connect with their community and participate in local events.
